We awaited our bodies as one awaits spring: enclosed in the anxiety of the cortex. Thus we understood that if the first birth was all coincidence, biology, uncertainty - the other, this one, was choice, was waiting, was penance: it was exposing oneself to the world to abolish it, patiently reinhabit it. Giovanna Vivinetto - Ci vollero diciannove anni From Dolore Minimo, Novara, Interlinea, 2018 |
The fifth edition of Venere in Teatro recalls the popular expression of the mid-seasons, a passage of time and nature that we need and that seems increasingly to elude us. Combining this common saying with the dimension of dance leads us to explore the themes of transition, transformation, advancement/decay, evolution/involution, variation, and innovation.
The title "The Mid-Seasons" is therefore an expression to recall the phases of transition, the times of becoming, the conditions that arise and lead to new and different maturations of things.
Talking about change leads us to reflect on the impacts they themselves generate, the possible inadequacies and vulnerabilities, the capacity for adaptation, the unpredictability, and the inability to fully grasp the consistency of mutations.
These reflections form the curatorial framework that inspired the selection process of the artists who will be guests of Venere in Teatro.
Location and thematic inspiration become our two lenses, focused on the region and the public, as well as on young and established artists, without geographical limitations.
Nine evenings open to the public with 19 guest companies/artists.
From 4th to 7th and from 11th to 14th September, and again on September 21st, performances will take place in the Forte Marghera spaces.
The guest artists will engage with the nature of the place, with the uniqueness of the unconventional spaces that have transformed buildings originally built for military use into theaters of artistic production and creativity.
Alongside the evening performance program, there will be 3 talks, a selection of screendance, a sharing of the practices led by artist Chiara Frigo and developed into a community performance, and a call for artists under 35 to present a durational performance.

DO WE NEED THIS QUOTE?Avere aspetto umano basta alla nostra gioia.
