THE SPRING MINUTE - A brief course on ornamentation and staging

SINOPSIS
The spring minute is a short course that develops over the course of four days.
Its name, in addition to recalling its brevity, is an indication of its preparatory function as each school experience is a premise for a future act.
The proposed teachings are divided into three main qualities: corporeal, artisanal, theoretical.
The first involves the action of the body in space, the second focuses on the hands and the gaze while the third focuses on concepts.
The physical activities: collective gymnastics and balances, exercises on stage presence and on the rhythmic and choreographic use of the stick. The artisanal includes the study and application of ornamentation, both with drawing and embroidery. The theoretical lessons will focus on the relationship between art, artifice and magic in their historical and anthropological meaning.
A culminating moment of celebration is planned in which the ritual of eating together at the same table becomes an act of attention to detail and subversion of everyday life.

BIOGRAPHY
Maestranza Litoranea is dedicated to the exercise and study of artistic and artisanal forms starting from dialogue and shared practice.
The members of the collective met at the Cònia school, a course in "Representation Technique" directed by Claudia Castellucci. From this, the group draws a rhythmic and methodological model in structuring its autonomous meetings, which began in 2021.
Since their foundation, on a seasonal basis, the meetings are dedicated to exercise understood as a practice of knowledge, discovery, invention and propulsion towards individual or collective creation.
The areas of study include: artisanal techniques such as embroidery or the structure of the ornament; the elements of staging and their relationships; choral dance; the composition of choreographic music; drawing as a tool for exploration; the study of the celebration understood as the preparation of food, the table and the dramatic rhythm of the meal.
These are accompanied by theoretical insights into art, philosophy and anthropology.
Today Maestranza Litoranea presents itself as a School, opening its doors to those who wish to share the pleasure of study and practice. The school is a meeting and exchange, a moment and place of common breathing.
Members of Maestranza Litoranea: Ambra Accorsi, Otto Alba, Eleonora Bonino, Andrea Buttazzi, Maddalena Scalettari, Arianna Sortino, Enea Zerbarini Castellini.
